This page will show some of the construction work I did for various models. It will be updating on a regular basis.

Tribes

My three -part model “Tribes” deals with areas in all our lives which provide us very much with a sense of “belonging”: religion, families and nationalism. I chose to render these areas in historical contexts: “Religion” – the conquering of Montsegur by the Catholic church in the year 1244, “Family” – the court of Henry VIII and his six wifes during the 16th century, and finally “Nationalism” – the UK Brexit in 2021.

Working on “Family” – one out of three models for my next diorama “Tribes”.

Scars

Work on Abandonment – construction of base for the castle to get the correct height. Positioning of the figures and placing the electric cables.

Constructing the base of “At Home”. It consists of one layer of polystyron plus some little vertical supports to allow the cables to pass through. On the left the making of carpets – using flocking material.

Medieval Village

The base of the medieval village. It has been built from cardboard boxes; then covered with newspaper and painted.

“Raw” cobblestones made out of a special mixture. Construction of a medieval house – the others were made pretty much in the same way.

Miscellanious

Base Building

Construction of little lanterns for the medieval houses.
