Narcissism

The narcissistic child requires attention around the clock. Doting parents spoiling their offspring, as shown in this miniature, can increase the feeling of exaggerated self-importance of the child to a point where he or she feels that the world is turning exclusively around them. Siblings or even close relatives, who are living with the family, are not desired by the narcissistic child as they draw the paternal attention away from number one.
